Return Policy

This policy outlines the conditions under which returns, refunds, and warranty claims are accepted on Skar Audio orders.

Refunds

Returns may be initiated within 30 days of delivery for a refund, subject to the shipping and late-return fees below, with the exception of pre-owned items (see Pre-Owned (USED-) Items below).

This is the deadline to start your request, not a requirement for the package to arrive at our facility within 30 days. For the carrier drop-off deadline, see Return Drop-Off Window. Amazon, eBay, and other retailer purchases follow that seller or marketplace’s return policy.

Warranty shipping has a separate deadline: a prepaid inbound label is provided for eligible warranty claims within 30 days of the order date (purchase date). After that, customers pay inbound shipping unless customer support explicitly approves a prepaid label. This shipping-cost window does not change the 30-day refund-request window from delivery or the applicable warranty coverage period. See our Warranty Policy for details.

To initiate a return:

Visit the returns portal to start the request.
A confirmation email will follow with shipping instructions and, where applicable, a prepaid return label.
Once the return is received, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 24–48 hours. A confirmation email is sent when the refund is issued.

Exchanges are not offered. To replace an item with a different one, return the original for a refund and place a new order for the desired item.

Pre-Owned (USED-) Items

All pre-owned items — identified by a SKU that begins with USED- — are sold as-is. Effective for orders placed on or after May 18, 2026 at 12:01 AM ET, USED- items are not eligible to be returned for a refund.

These items remain covered by Skar Audio's 1-Year Limited Warranty from the date of purchase. If you have an issue with a pre-owned item under that warranty, you can still file a warranty claim through the returns portal.

Orders placed before May 18, 2026 at 12:01 AM ET follow the standard 30-day refund window from delivery for all items, including USED- items.

USED- items purchased on Amazon follow Amazon’s standard 30-day return policy and are processed through Amazon directly — Amazon’s policy applies to those orders regardless of the as-is rule above.

USED- items purchased on eBay follow eBay’s applicable return policy and Money Back Guarantee. Its protection for defective or not-as-described items is separate from voluntary returns on an as-is listing. Start those requests through eBay.

Return Drop-Off Window

For a refund return using a prepaid label, the package must be physically handed to the carrier so that the carrier records taking possession of the package on or before the 37th day from the delivery date. This is the 30-day refund window plus a 7-day cushion to deliver the package to UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

Possession means a real handling scan from the carrier — not a label-creation event. A tracking number is generated the moment a label is purchased, so a tracking number alone does not satisfy this rule.

Pre-transit statuses that do not count

These events fire before the carrier has physically taken possession.

Qualifying handling scans

The first event that satisfies the drop-off requirement is the carrier’s first physical handling scan after pickup or drop-off.

If the carrier’s first qualifying handling scan does not appear on or before day 37 from the delivery date, and the customer still chooses to send the item(s) back for a refund, a restocking fee is deducted from the refund — 15% if the item is received in new/unopened condition, or 25% if it has been opened or used. The fee is calculated against the original price paid for each returned item. Returns shipped on time have no restocking fee; reason-based return shipping fees may still apply.

The deciding factor is the carrier’s first qualifying handling scan date — not the date the return was initiated or the label was generated. A return that sits unshipped after a label is created is still treated as late if the first qualifying scan lands after day 37.

When a return is shipped on time — the carrier’s first qualifying handling scan lands on or before day 37 — a return label offered at no charge remains free. Any reason-based shipping fee disclosed before submission still applies. If that first scan lands after day 37, then in addition to the restocking fee — 15% if the item is received in new/unopened condition, or 25% if it has been opened or used, the cost of the prepaid return label Skar Audio provided is also deducted from the refund. This late-return label deduction applies regardless of the original reason for the return.

If the 37-day window has already passed, contact support before shipping the package. Beyond the restocking fee and return-label deduction, the return authorization itself can expire the longer the package sits unshipped — see Return Authorization Expiry below. Support will confirm which fees apply and whether the authorization is still valid before the return is sent.

Return Authorization Expiry

Starting a return or warranty claim opens a return authorization (RMA), and that authorization is valid for a limited time — not indefinitely. A refund authorization is valid for 45 days from the day the return is started, and a warranty authorization is valid for 180 days. Both are measured to the carrier’s first qualifying handling scan — the same standard described in Return Drop-Off Window above.

If that first qualifying scan does not happen within the authorization window, the authorization expires: the RMA is closed and any prepaid return label issued for it is no longer valid. This is not a permanent ban on returning the item — contact support through the returns portal, and if the item is still within its original return window, a new return can be started.

A package that arrives on an expired authorization is reviewed case-by-case. Acceptance is not guaranteed, and any applicable restocking or late-return-label fees described above still apply.

Reminder emails are sent before an authorization expires.

Absolute limit: no refund is issued more than 180 days after delivery, under any circumstance.

Orders placed on Amazon, eBay, or Google follow that marketplace’s own return window instead of the authorization windows above.

Return Shipping Fees

Refunds

A return shipping fee may be deducted from the refund depending on the reason for the return. Skar Audio generates the return label, and the cost is calculated using the actual carrier rate from the customer’s address to the Skar Audio facility — there are no flat or padded fees. The exact amount is displayed on the review screen prior to confirmation, so the impact on the refund total is visible before submission.

On returns that ship on time — the carrier’s first qualifying handling scan recorded on or before day 37 from the delivery date (the 30-day refund window plus the 7-day shipping cushion) — any prepaid return label Skar Audio provides at no charge stays free of charge. If a return ships late, meaning that first scan lands after day 37, then in addition to the restocking fee — 15% if the item is received in new/unopened condition, or 25% if it has been opened or used, the cost of the prepaid return label Skar Audio provided is deducted from the refund. This deduction applies to any late return regardless of the original return reason, including reasons for which Skar Audio would otherwise have covered the label.

Vehicle-Specific Enclosures (Loaded and Unloaded)

Vehicle-specific enclosures — including SKUs prefixed with VS-, L-VS, L-EVL, L-SDR, L-SVR, and L-VD — are precision-fit for the specific cab style, body style, and year range listed on the product page. Confirming that the vehicle’s year, make, model, trim, and cab/body style match the listing before purchase is the customer’s responsibility. Return shipping on a “Not Compatible” claim for a vehicle-specific enclosure is therefore typically deducted from the refund.

One exception applies: if the automated returns flow determines that the listing was genuinely ambiguous about fitment for the vehicle profile in question, Skar Audio will cover return shipping on that claim. To make this determination, the returns portal will request the vehicle’s year, make, model, trim, and cab/body style during the claim process. Coverage is decided per-claim; there is no guaranteed waiver.

Warranty Claims

For eligible warranty claims within 30 days of the order date, Skar Audio provides a prepaid return label. After that window, the customer arranges and pays for inbound shipping through a carrier of their choice, unless customer support explicitly approves a prepaid label. This shipping window starts at purchase; the refund-request window starts at delivery. Follow the instructions for your approved claim before shipping.

Warranties

New Skar Audio products are covered by a two-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Pre-owned items (SKUs starting with USED- or RFBISH-) carry a 1-Year Limited Warranty instead — see the Warranty Policy page for the full breakdown.

To file a warranty claim:

Visit the returns portal to start the request.
After the claim is initiated, return shipping instructions are emailed to the customer. A prepaid label is included for eligible claims within 30 days of the order date or when explicitly approved by customer support. Otherwise, the customer arranges and pays for inbound shipping.
Once the warranty return is received, processing takes up to 4 business days. A confirmation email is sent once the claim is processed. Outbound shipping on the replacement product is covered by Skar Audio.
